You will always find people with dozens of tips on losing weight. Some tips are very good and some are just useless. 1. Use smaller plates:
I know this might sound crazy to some of you. I agree this has nothing to do with calories or exercise, but it affects you mentally. This will trick your mind into thinking you are eating more food. The food in a smaller plate looks more compared to a large plate if they have the same amount of food. It is also possible that you might put less food on smaller plate only because you don’t want it to look so loaded. This is a mental trick, this works for many so why not give it a chance.
2. Don’t eat fast eat slowly:
This is again a mind trick. This is an old tip to lose weight. When you eat slowly your mind will send the signal of satiety [full feeling]. Some research shows that your brain sends signal at 20th minute. Have you ever seen a speed eating contest? Speed eater eats so fast that his brain doesn’t have time to say “STOP, I M DONE! ” If he eats same amount of food slowly he might not be able to eat the same quantity. So eat slowly and you will reach a feeling of fullness i.e. Satiety.
3. Take smaller portions:
If you like fried chicken, you might take 2-3 pieces. Instead take one piece of chicken and replace the other pieces with salads and veggies which are high in fiber. Fiber will give you full feeling and you will end up eating less calories.
4. Don’t clear your plate:
Amongst all the tips this one is the hardest. As a child we all are taught not to waste food and to clear up our plate because other people are starving. So to avoid the guilt of wasting food, start with less food in your plate.
